Shoreline
2130 callout for missing 69 yo male dementia patient in Shoreline. We responded with two trailing and two airscent teams. Subject walked away from the group home at 0930 hours. Local PD closed the case without calling SAR. The subject was said to be generally lucid, will carry on conversations, had an irrational drive to go to see imaginary family and social security administration. He had been at the home for only two weeks. Airscent teams were deployed to nearby parks and the trailing teams started at the residence, then were jumped to a hot lead. The elad trailing team called in a question about a bus route that lead to METRO drivers being notified that this fellow was out and about. The subject was located by a METRO bus driver at 45th & Stone about 0245 hours, fine but quite confused. (54.5 hrs)

2230 callout for missing 11 and 13 yo males in Federal Way. We responded with 15 personnel. The subjects had last been seen playing in the backyard at the residence around 1700 hours. There was a report of the subjects being seen at an arcade at 1830 hours. Two trailing teams checked the arcade and reported negative interest by the dogs. The airscent teams had been deployed near the residence as well as nearby greenbelts in the event the subjects were holed up there for the night. Additional trailing teams worked from the residence as well as key intersections near the residence. The airscent teams came up with nothing. The trailing teams at the residence had mixed results with no definite conclusion on the events. The search was suspended in the morning when the combined dog and ground teams reported no subjects, nor any clues. (101.5 hrs) The boys turned up two days later when found by a neighbor in the woods. The boys stated they had gone to the SuperMall the first night and had been staying in the woods after that.
