Snoqualmie
1700 callout for a missing 6 yo at Snoqualmie Falls. We responded with 15 people and were turned around when the subject was located at 1730 ours by first responders. (7.5 hrs)

July 4, 2000

Carnation
0130 callout for 3 missing mountain bikers at a rural park. We responded with two trailing and three airscent teams. The trailing team of Joanne Varney and Hylee identified a direction of travel into the park and the airscent teams were tasked to search areas along this route. Joanne and Hylee found the location where the group had camped for the night and were about 1/2 hour behind the subjects when they made there way out at first light and found a residence to call their family. (78 hrs)

Monroe
1030 callout to search for missing aircraft along Steven's Pass. We responded with three personnel to assist by driving roads to search for the plane. The aircraft was located by searchers; there were no survivors. (29.5 hrs)

Skykomish
1700 callout for a missing 75 yo male in a wilderness area. We responded with three trailing and three airscent teams. We were turned around when the subject was located by a police officer 1.5 miles down Highway 2 from the residence. (31 hrs)

Stevens Pass
1900 callout for a 40 yo male backpacker reported 2 days overdue on camping trip. We responded with three personnel to help establish if this person was missing. The subject was located by Guardian One at Skyline Lake; followed up by Greg Varney and ESAR's Doug Caley. The subject had decided to spend another day or two camping since the weather was fine. Unfortunately, the subject did not hike out the 45 minutes to a nearby phone to tell his family of his changed plans.(13 hrs)

July 24, 2000

Hobart
2000 callout for a missing 8 yo ATV'r in a wilderness area. We responded with a limited callout of two trailing teams. Subject had been missing since early afternoon but area was undefined; therefore, KCSO felt that K-9 teams not effective until general area identified. This was a limited response with trailing teams to help establish a direction of travel from the PLS. We were turned around when the subject was located by advance teams. (4.5 hrs)
