March, April and May 2000

March 3, 2000
00-0433
Yarrow Point
1530 callout for a missing 22 yo male from his residence in a residential neighborhood. We responded with four cadaver teams as it was suspected that he had committed suicide. We searched near the residence, a house under construction, a nearby park as well as along the water's edge. Although Bruce Speer and Hunter identified an area off a dock in the water, the search was suspended due to darkness and a lack of a boat. The subject was located by divers the next day in the general area identified by Bruce and Hunter. (40 hrs)

April 21-22, 2000
00-0847
Bremerton, Kitsap County
2200 callout for a missing 68 yo female Alzheimer's patient in an urban area. We responded with one trailing team. We responded to support the local trailing dog team. The trail lead from the residence to the Seattle ferry dock. The teams interviewed the ferry workers who identified that a person generally matching the description of the subject had boarded the ferry earlier that day. The search was suspended, but follow-up investigation identified that the subject was in a Seattle hospital. (28.5 hrs)
