Sept 17-18, 2000
00-2392
North Bend
2000 callout for a missing 37 yo male camper along the Middle Fork Snoqualmie. We responded with one trailing and two airscent teams. The subject was reported missing after last being seen during camping trip with his wife at 0230 the previous morning. The trailing and airscent teams were not locating definitive trails or clues. The subject returned to camp ground at 0230 during the search with a questionable explanation of activities. The described activities did not correlate to the findings by the trailing and airscent teams. Sept 23-24-2000

0830 callout for a missing 36 yo male backpacker near Upper Wildcat Lake, Snoqualmie. We responded with one trailing and four airscent teams. The subject was reported separated from his hiking party by a member of the party with a cell phone. The teams deployed from the trail head towards where the subject was last seen. As the teams reached neared the PLS, 4.5 miles in, the subject was located by a 4x4 unit along a road in an adjacent drainage at 1800 hrs. This was a good example of successful containment. Our teams bivouacked and returned to base the next morning. (322.5 hrs)
