Our very own hero

Congratulations K9 Lincoln! The votes have been counted and thanks to your support our very own K9 Lincoln was selected as one of the three semi finalist Search & Rescue Dogs in the 2022 American Humane Hero Dog Award competition. We are very proud and grateful to everyone that voted. Even though Lincoln did not make the  finals, this was a great chance to showcase the life-saving work of all the King County Hero Dogs and build community support. Thank You!!!

Happy New Year!

Max, Zula, Natick, Jack, Coulee, Tika, Fritz, Artoo, and all the rest of the KCSD dog noses wish everyone and their dog a happy and healthy 2021. King County Search Dogs deployed on 51 missions last year including a number of multi-day operations involving units from surrounding counties. Despite all the challenges everyone faced in 2020, community support for KCSD remained strong including the largest single gift we have ever received which helped us to replace aging radios. Thank you to all our donors as well as to everyone we meet who wishes us well. It makes a real difference! […]

Dog Kisses ♥︎♥︎

K9 Edgar and the rest of the KCSD dog pack would like to give a big wet dog kiss of thanks to everyone who donated to King County Search Dogs during the 2019 GiveBIG event. We are so very grateful for your support which reinforces our commitment to serving our community as well as providing funds for essential communication and GPS equipment. Don’t worry if you forgot, you can still contribute on our web site. Your donations help us save lives!

Carlo had a larger than life personality and was unwavering in his adoration for the human on the other end of the leash. Carlo assisted on dozens of evidence and missing persons searches, and kept Andy on his toes both at home and in the field. And while we continue to feel the loss of Carlo, the legacy this partnership leaves behind […]

Everyone had fun in Redmond

King County Search Dogs and Seattle Mountain Rescue visited the John Muir School in Redmond earlier this year. They read a story about search dogs as part of a reading promotion program and then did a demonstration where some of the dogs searched for teachers hiding in the playground. Everyone had a good time judging by the many thoughtful thank-you notes the children sent as you can see in the sample below. If you are interested in having King County Search Dogs participate in a program at your school please contact us at info@kcsearchdogs.org. Click here to see more thank you […]
