K9 Artoo & Joan
Artoo is a Border Collie-Australian Cattle Dog mix. His namesake combines her love of Star Wars along with honoring her previous certified dog ("Artoo" + 2nd dog certified= R2D2) He is certified in airscent and human remains detection. Joan was the recipient of the 2015 KCSD Ted Jamieson award and was featured in an Issaquah Times article on the King County Search Dogs (see the news sections for links) and was the 2018 King County SAR volunteer of the year! She is an operations leader who also serves as Board Secretary and has been a member of KCSD since 2002.
