Carlo
With heavy hearts we said goodbye to K9 Carlo after almost ten years with KCSD. Carlo was certified in trailing and human remains detection and was unit co-founder Andy Rebmann's 11th working dog and 7th German Shepherd partner. Carlo had a larger than life personality and was unwavering in his adoration for the human on the other end of the leash. Carlo assisted on dozens of evidence and missing persons searches, and kept Andy on his toes both at home and in the field. While there is a great feeling of loss, Carlo leaves behind legacy that the rest of KCSD will build on forever. It was a privilege to watch Carlo and Andy work, and through that, teach the rest of us what it means to work a dog in search and rescue. Thank you “Team 1” for your service to our community, and for the many lessons you have imparted on the next generation of dog handlers.
